WHAT'S NEW

Sears and Scoutrees

Once again, Scouts Canada and Sears will partner to promote our Scoutrees program! Building on the success we had last year, on Saturday April 10 and Saturday April 17, Scouts youth will provide an information coupon card to every customer who enters one of the 110 participating Sears stores nationwide.

For more information on how to involve your group with a Sears Scoutrees event, please contact your Council or Area Commissioner.

Scout Remix

Recently, Northern Lights AYC Alex MacDonald created a YouTube video that has sparked Scout interest across Canada. Alex describes his motivation behind making the video below. Well done Alex, your efforts have surely inspired other youth, just as you were inspired!

"I created this video after a Scouters' Conference I attended and spent the day with many amazing youth and leaders. Afterwards, I was very inspired and I wanted to give back in some way because Scouts has transformed me into whole new person. Through Scouts I have met so many awesome people that have changed my life, and have had so many opportunities that I would not have otherwise had if I were not in Scouts. Overall, the youth who are striving to make a difference through Scouts were my inspiration to make my video. They motivate me to be a great AYC and I know they will continue to inspire me as I continue to grow with Scouts!"

2009 Popcorn Winners and Wrap-Up

Thank you everyone who participated in the 2009 Popcorn fundraiser. Everyone did such a great job and we have so many winners and great successes. Some groups who never fundraised before successfully raised $12,000 while other groups had their total sales matched by Trail's End for winning the Kick-Off Video Contest.

Everyone put in great efforts this year and with everyone's hard work we successfully sold $1.5 million worth of popcorn in total across Central Ontario. Way to Go Everyone!

To find out more about popcorn sales for each council and to see who all the winners are for the Great Wolf Lodge draw, Trail's End draw for Futureshop cards, Kick-Off Video contest and Photo Contest, click here.
